Tools (horn & anvil)

The horn is designed and made according to the specific application. It applies the ultrasonic vibration to the parts to be welded, or what is usually called the workpiece. The anvil helps grab the workpiece tightly so the workpiece can be held firmly still and both the oscillation and the pressure are applied to the workpiece optimally.

Booster

A booster transfers the oscillation produced by the converter to the horn, while either amplifying it or decreasing it.

Converter

A converter transduces the 3000Watts electric energy into mechanical oscillation of the same frequency by piezoelectric effect.

Ultrasonic Controller / Generator

The ultrasonic controller converts the 230±15%VAC/50~60HZ electric energy into high frequency electric energy of more than 3000Watts. And all the welding conditions and parameters can be set on the controller.

Actuator / Head

An actuator or head is the mechanical assembly that supports the oscillating system and drives its movements pneumatically with a cylinder or a stepping motor. It functions to precisely position the horn and the workpiece and to make sure the pressure is applied to the workpiece in a proper duration.

Suitability for ultrasonic welding

ORCA-series welders are used to bond metal materials. Typically copper, aluminum and nickel parts are the most suitable to be welded by ultrasonic. Kormax will decide if an application is weldable after making sample welding.
